What are mild disabilities?

Mild disabilities include learning disability, high-functioning autism, Asperger syndrome, emotional disturbances, and ADHD. Individuals with mild disabilities have difficulty with cognition, language, social skills, physical abilities, and so forth.

Emotional Disturbances

Emotional health has significant impact on physical, academic, and social development. Emotional imbalance often starts in childhood or youth and may not be recognized or treated as quickly as it should be. Even if a child has normal intelligence and social skills, they may suffer academically and socially if their emotional state is imbalanced. In addition to psychological counseling (with or without prescribed medication as necessary), individual academic support may be needed.
